I work for Cumbria Law Centre, a charity which provides free legal advice to those on low incomes throughout Cumbria. We want to raise our profile within the business community to assist with fundraising. Lynda understood immediately. She was delightful. Working with Lynda McDairmant of Tell Tale Marketing has really helped Secret Solway Tours. As well as being hugely professional and really good to work with, Lynda is astute, she is a great listener and has masses of in-depth experience. Initially Lynda did an extensive assessment of my tour offer and the marketing I had done so far. She put a great deal of thought into who I needed to market my tours to, what my brand is and how best to represent what I do in the marketing of my tours.
Lynda assisted me greatly with the branding of my tours. Whilst I had a clear sense in my head of what my tour offer was, I was not conveying that clearly in my written marketing material. Lynda wrote me marketing material which both captured the essence of what a Secret Solway Tour experience is and attracted the attention of customers.
Drawing on her long experience of working in tourism and the travel trade, Lynda has been able to advise me on which sector of the market I would be best to approach and how to approach them. As well as introducing me to a suitable market for my tours, Lynda has given me advice and coaching on how best to communicate with that target market.
She produced a very detailed marketing plan for me to work to. This is proving to be an excellent reference document. Lynda detailed the approach I should adopt within different marketing activities and added in links that provide me with extra information that I may need for developing my marketing skills. She also provided a calendar of the annual marketing activities I need to do.
As well as all the above, Lynda produced a press release about my tours and sent this out to various magazines. She can write well and in many different styles. The style used in the press release was clever and light hearted and has caught people’s attention.
The last thing I would add is that I feel very lucky to have met Lynda and had the opportunity to work with her at this stage of the development of my business.

The Devil's Porridge Museum was very pleased to have Lynda on board. Her knowledge and experience of the travel trade has been invaluable in our search to extend our markets, manage our marketing budget in a more targeted fashion and to improve our Social Media offering.
During our intensive period of support, Lynda concentrated on increasing our business from coach companies, contacting the major players in the sector and getting our message out into travel publications with well-produced press releases. Lynda spent many hours with us imparting wisdom, represented us for a weekend at the Coach Tourism Association event in Blackpool, making valuable contacts for us to follow up.
Lynda provided training for two members of staff and seven volunteers as we prepared to go to Glasgow VisitScotland Expo for the first time in April 2018.
